It's a busy week at Walt Whitman High School, with football, a bonfire, a field hockey game and South Huntington Hall of Fame inductions.
Events kicked off Tuesday night with a powder puff football game between the junior and senior girls. By tradition, the seniors are usually declared the winners but this year, the scoreboard gave the juniors the victory at 30-18. Boys from the two classes competed at halftime, dressed as cheerleaders. The seniors were rated the winners.
The bonfire is scheduled for Thursday, followed by a dance.
The Hall of Fame inductions are set for 4 p.m. Friday, with the football game against Commack at 6.
Whitman will host Sachem North in field hockey at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
