Councilwoman Berland's Seminar on Cyberbullying

On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, Councilwoman Susan A. Berland, the Huntington Youth Council, Project EXCEL and the Suffolk County Police Department will be hosting a Seminar on Cyberbullying from 7:00 P.M. to 9 P.M. in the Board Room at Huntington Town Hall.

The Seminar on Cyberbullying will consist of two presentations from experts in the area.  Valerie Drakos, a clinical psychologist, social worker and Director of Project EXCEL will discuss who is at risk for bullying; the many technological methods bullies use to perpetuate fear and the negative consequences that arise from these dangerous acts.  Dectective Rory Forestal of the Suffolk County Police Department Computer Crimes Unit will give a presentation on the serious legal remifications of cyberbullying.  The event will end with a question and answer period with our featured speakers.

The Seminar on Cyberbullying is a free event and is welcome to the families of students in the 6th grade or higher.
