Do You Support Common Core Standards?

Poor results bring a backlash to new student standards.

When the State Education Department released the dismal results of tests taken by elementary school students last spring, reaction was swift. School administrators and others quickly pointed out that New York students were tested before a new curriculum was fully implemented, and that this year's results shouldn't be compared to previous years.

The poor results on the tests has led to a backlash, with parents and some educators demanding changes or even abandonment of the goals.

What are your thoughts? Do you think the new standards are a good idea? Do our children need to be challenged more? Do you think results will change in the future?
