Women's Network Event Scheduled

The town's 11th annual Women’s Networking Day and awards ceremony is set for Oct. 2.

With the theme  “Luxurious from the Inside Out,” the event will include more than 50 booths, where experts will provide attendees with information,and demonstrations on a variety of topics.

The town Women’s Division presents the annual event to help the public receive important information and learn about services offered by the Town’s numerous non-profit organizations. The Town Board will also be honoring five exceptional women during the annual awards ceremony.

 The event will be held from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the Larkfield Manor, 507 Larkfield Road, East Northport.

General admission is $10/$8 for seniors and includes lunch and raffles.

Town and other local officials participated in Saturday's Huntington Awareness Day. Members of the Town Board, Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia, Suffolk County Legis. William Spencer and others joined the parade and fair that celebrates Huntington Station.

A candlelight vigil march is set for Friday to commemorate those lost to chemical dependencies. The walk will go from St. Patrick's Church to Town Hall and will follow a forum at the church on drug and alcohol addiction, which starts at 7 p.m.

The Town Board meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
