Town Board Meets Tuesday

Agenda released for July 12 meeting at village hall.

The Huntington Town Board will urge the United States Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee to establish a commemorative postage stamp honoring the late Harry Chapin for his dedication to promoting social justice and fight to end hunger at a regular meeting Tuesday at town hall.

Also the 7 pm. meeting, a hearing is scheduled to consider granting a license agreement to National Grid to provide energy efficient natural gas service to the U.S. Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northport. 

Other hearings include, a proposed application for Federal Capital Assistance for the Huntington Area Rapid Transit (HART) System and several proposed uniform traffic code amendments, according the the agenda.

A new member will be appointed to the Public Art Advisory Committee and individuals will be named to serve as volunteers in the handicapped parking enforcement program.
