Tell Us: AvalonBay Project Gets Boost

Should opponents continue to fight the controversial development?

The AvalonBay plan to build a 379-unit multifamily development in Huntington Station has been controversial since the beginning, with loud protests at Town Board meetings and demonstrations on the street.

But a court ruling released this week upheld the town's 2011 approval of the rezoning that permitted the project to go forward and said the town had met environmental impact requirements.

Do you think opposition to the project should continue? Did the town handle the project the right way? And who will be most affected by the development? Please tell us in the comments.
