17th LD Candidate: Dennis Garetano

If elected, former South Huntington BOE member promises to stick to core issues to improve community.

Dennis Garetano says enough is enough so it's again time for him to step forward.

Running for the 17 Suffolk County Legislative District seat for the second time, the 52-year resident of Huntington Station says those elected are not focusing core issues such as safe schools and safe communities which are threatening his comunity.

"[Lou D'Amaro] was elected five years ago and I don't think he's doing the job, I think he's failing," said Garetano, a Republican.

President of the Family Pet Expo and a pet show promoter, Garetano, 59, served on the South Huntington School Board for seven years.

Garetano, who lost to D'Amaro in 2005, said he would work to bring back the gang task force back into the communities.
