Still There: Noli Eileen Remains Sunk in Huntington Harbor

Town of Huntington in process of getting quotes for removal of fishing boat.

Six days after sinking in its mooring, a fishing boat remains submerged in Huntington Harbor as Town officials contemplate their next move.

At low tide Wednesday, much of the sunken Noli Eileen was visible from the shore despite a notice of violation issued by Town Bay Constables July 5 to the owner of the boat, Peter Gens.

Town officials say they are close to taking further action as talks with Gens' attorney continue.

"We're still talking, lawyer to lawyer, but it looks like the Town will have to remove the boat and bill the owner," said Town information officer A.J. Carter. "We are in the process of getting quotes on the cost of the removal."

Cited with pollution of waterways, unseaworthy vessel and an expired mooring permit, Gens was ordered to correct the situation last week by Town officials.

Despite efforts to keep the 56-foot boat afloat, the vessel apparently  with no passengers on board.

Attempts by Patch to contact Gens were unsuccessful Wednesday.

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
