Signal Problems Causing Big LIRR Delays

System-wide delays up to 30 minutes being reported.

Written by Joe Dowd

The Long Island Rail Road is reporting major system-wide delays for Thursday evening's commute, the result of signal problems.

The delays range up to 30 minutes system-wide due to signal issues on the Queens side of the East River tunnels, the LIRR reported.

Westbound service has been restored between Jamaica and Penn Station Penn following an earlier suspension.

The delays impact both the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson lines.
