Primary Day to Narrow the Field

Polls open all day as voters will choose nominees for several positions.

Voters will choose nominees Tuesday for various Huntington offices in pary primaries.

The highway superintendent's job has three Democratic candidates.  Incumbent William Naughton is being challenged by Donald B. McKay and Kevin Orelli.

Two members of Town Council, Democrat Mark Cuthbertson and Republican Mark Mayoka, are seeking re-election.

Running alongside Cuthbertson is Tracey Edwards; Tuesday, they are contending for the Working Families nomination against Richard Hall.

Mayoka and Josh Price, both endorsed by the town Republican Committee, are competing against Mark Capodanno.

And Republican town supervisor candidate Gene Cook is contending with two challengers, Harry Acker on the Independence Party line, and Robert Lifson on the GOP line.
 
Democrat Frank Petrone, the town supervisor, is seeking the nod from  the Working Families Party, as is Valerie Stringfellow.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. To find your polling place, check at the Suffolk County Board of Elections registration page.

New York has closed primaries, meaning only party members can vote in that particular primary.
