Morrow: No Trustee Replacement Yet

Huntington Bay mayor says search still on to fill vacant spot on Village Board.

More than two months since longtime Huntington Bay Trustee John McCusker announced his resignation due to illness, a decision on a replacement has yet to be made.

At Village Hall Monday, Mayor Herb Morrow said he has talked to a couple of residents who are interested in the vacant position, but he wants to find someone from the same village association McCusker represented, if possible.

There are four associations within the village.

"I want to take one more pass through and see if anyone wants to do it in Wincoma," said Morrow.

McCusker failed to make a meeting after being reelected to a third term in June. On Aug. 15, Morrow announced McCusker's decision to resign.

On Monday, the mayor said McCusker is doing "OK" and going through "a very tough situation."
