LIRR Adds Holiday Service

Changes made on Port Jefferson line for Christmas Eve.

The  Long Island Rail Road has added extra service for those traveling home Monday. The additional service from Penn Station will begin each day at 12:46 p.m. and run through 3:48 p.m.

Here are the extra trains being added to the Port Jefferson line schedule:

The LIRR will add one overnight train between Penn Station and Huntington to accommodate customers taking in late night events in the city during the holidays.

Port Jefferson Branch (to Huntington)

  • 1:31 p.m. to Port Jefferson will have an added stop at Jamaica.
  • 2:08 p.m. stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, then all stops to Huntington
  • 2:29 p.m. stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington
  • 3:24 p.m. stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury, Hicksville.

For additional information, customers can call 511, the New York State Travel Information Line, and say: Long Island Rail Road. Customers can also visit the LIRR’s website.  If you are deaf or hard of hearing, use your preferred relay service provider for the free 711 relay to reach LIRR at 511.
