Huntington Parks and Recreation Dept. Slashes Program Fees

Town Board authorizes cuts at recent meeting.

The Huntington Town Board has agreed to a request by the Department of Parks and Recreation to reduce fees for evening leisure programs and craft workshops.

Fee reductions were requested by parks and recreation after program revenue and attendance rates dropped sharply following a fee hike two years ago, according to the resolution which passed unanimously May 22. Fees have been restored to 2010 rates.

Evening leisure programs were cut from $34-$153 to $20-$80 with a recreation ID card and from $51-$170 to $25-$100 without a recreation ID card.
