Second Precinct Officer Honored by Legislators

James Garside recognized for helping to save the life of three people since Jan. 19.

Second Precinct police officer James Garside was recognized at a meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature this month for three recent acts of heroism.

Huntington legislators Lou D'Amaro, William Spencer and Steve Stern honored the highly-decorated officer, also a certified emergency medical technician, for helping save the life of three people since Jan. 19.

With the help of two other emergency responders, Garside assisted in the revival of a 46-year old woman in cardiac arrest in Huntington Jan. 31.
