Huntington Notebook: Trash Pickup Disrupted; New Bank

Town asks some residents to hold trash cans until next scheduled pickup.

Two contracted sanitation trucks were removed from their routes Saturday due to snow-related service incidents causing some Huntington residents to go without scheduled trash pickup, according to a town press release.

Although trash collection occurred in most areas of Huntington despite the inclement weather, the Department of Environmental Waste is asking residents in parts of Greenlawn, Melville and a few homes inaccessible because of snow accumulations, to bring trash cans back from the curb and hold them until Jan. 24., the next scheduled collection day.
