Groups to Explain Ideas for Station

Greater Huntington Civic Group to host Renaissance Downtowns, Vision LI.

Two organizations with ideas about the future of Huntington Station will speak at the Greater Huntington Civic Group Thursday.

Renaissance Downtowns, the master developer hired by the Town of Huntington to revitalize the Station, and Vision Long Island, which works on "smart growth" planning, will present their ideas.

Representing their organizations are Ryan Porter, vice president of planning and development for Plainview-based Renaissance and Eric Alexander, executive director of Vision Long Island.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at VFW Post #1469  at 210 W. Pulaski Road, Huntington Station.

Renaissance has been collecting ideas from the community through Source the Station, holding meetings and asking people to vote online for their favorite projects.

For those of us who can't drop everything at the last minute to attend this meeting, will their ideas be posted on line somewhere?

How about a must attend school to learn english for those who Continue to reside here and feel it is not necessary to learn it. Like the clown who won 300 million last week and has been here for 26 years and does not speak a word of it.
