Youth Financial Workshop at Town Hall

A two-hour seminar for youths and their parents on how youths can handle their finances will be offered at Huntington Town Hall in the Town Board room from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25.

The Youth Financial Forum is offered by SafeGuard Credit Counseling to high school students and their parents in conjunction with Councilwoman Glenda Jackson.

This forum is to help high school students preparing for college better handle their financial responsibilities.

It is designed to teach young adults the importance of setting budget guidelines, realistic savings goals and responsible spending.

It will help youths identify risks and outline the proactive steps that can ensure financial success and freedom from debt.

In addition, it will provide information about the truths of credit cards, credit scores and credit reports and how these factors ultimately affect your bank account.
