Work to Close Part of Creek Road

Traffic diversion to last for two weeks.

Part of Creek Road in Halesite will be closed for two weeks starting Monday morning.

Traffic along Creek Road will be diverted between Hill Place and New York Avenue while a new culvert is installed under Creek Road, part of the $18-million state Department of Transportation drainage project in the area. Residents of the area will be allowed to use the road.

Creek Road will be turned into a dead-end street at Hill Place.

The state DOT said that emergency service providers and local officials have been notified of this round-the-clock closure, which will take effect at 7 a.m.
