Clean Air Act: Has It Worked?

Law limits smoking in many places around New York.

The state's Clean Indoor Air Act became law July 24, 2003, banning smoking in nearly all workplaces, including bars and restaurants.

"Today marks the 10th anniversary of a law that has protected the health and life of countless New Yorkers, including our children, and we are seeing the results," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. "Promoting healthier living is something we all must play a part in, and this law has done just that by ensuring cleaner air for workplaces, restaurants and communities across New York State."

Do you think the law has been effective? Did it affect your smoking habits or those around you?
