Blighted Houses on Town's List

Vote allows Huntington to take legal action against several property owners.

The Town Board last week voted to approve legal against several blighted houses.

On the list of properties in violation of town code were:

24 Alyssum Ave., Huntington

199 Seaman Neck Road, Dix Hills

138 Wyman Ave., Huntington Station

17 Armell St., Huntington Station

502 10th Ave., East Northport

The action comes out of legislation passed in 2011.

The legislation includes a 25 percent reduction of certain fees to buyers of property registered on the town's blighted property list and the creation of a list of blight conditions with a specific point value attached to each.

Blight property list conditions include past summonses, illegal activity, fire hazards, boarded windows and entranceways, and graffiti, according to a release from the town.

Once a property earns a blight point value of 100 or more, the property owner will face a $5,000 fee for commercial property and $2,500 for residential property. The property will then be placed on the town's blight list.

Patch took a look at three of them.

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
