Update: Man Accused of Fatally Stabbing Stepfather

Huntington resident faces charge of second-degree murder.

A Huntington man was arrested and charged Saturday in the fatal stabbing of his stepfather, Suffolk County police said.

Matthew Hubrins, 28, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Noel Mohammed, 44.

Police were called to 161 Spring Road, Huntington, at 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning after a caller reported a disturbance to police. Mohammed, who lived in the home, was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

Hubrins is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
