Three Huntington Teens Injured in Early Morning Crash

A Cold Spring Harbor man injures four in an early morning crash.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Cold Spring Harbor man for driving while impaired by drugs after he crashed his vehicle injuring himself and four teen passengers Saturday, January 30, 2010 at approximately 4:20 a.m.

William Kearns, 22, of 170 Main St., was driving a 2010 Mercedes-Benz east on Fairway Place in Cold Spring Harbor when he failed to turn at the end of the road and struck a tree head-on in front of 17 Poplar Street at approximately 4:20 a.m.

Joseph Mardovich, 16, of 20 Plover Lane, Lloyd Harbor, and Emily Marx, 17, of 22 Forrest Drive, Huntington, were transported to Huntington Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Victoria Ramano, 16, of 21 Forest Drive, Lloyd Neck, and Brian Kearns, 17, brother of William Kearns, also of 170 Main St., Cold Spring Harbor, were transported to North Shore Syosset Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

William Kearns suffered a broken ankle and was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Kearns is due in Suffolk County Criminal Court in front of Judge William Condon on February 17, 2010 for a Septembber 2007 charge, Trespassing 3rd Degree, a charge for which he has already pleaded guilty.
