Suffolk Police Incidents: Assault; Attempted Burglary

Incidents reported in the second precinct between May 11 and 17.

The following incidents were reported in the Suffolk Police Department second precinct between May 11 and 17.

  • Someone reportedly smashed a first floor window at the Millennium Homes on New York Avenue in Huntington Station.
  • An elderly man claimed a man pushed him in the Huntington Library on Main Street, causing pain to his knee. He was transported to Huntington Hospital.
  • A man was punched in the face and head by a known assailant at the Fireside Deli on Jericho Turnpike in Elwood. He was treated for his injuries at Huntington Hospital.
  • The rear window of a church van was broken on New York Avenue in Huntington Station. The caller claims it is the second occurrence in one week.
  • The windshield of a 2008 Infinity SUV was smashed with a rock on New York Avenue.
  • A man on Delamere Street in Elwood was transported to Huntington Hospital after he was assaulted by an unknown man in Huntington Village earlier that night.
  • Two laptops, a bike, a camera, and sunglasses were stolen from a Caldwell Street home in Huntington Station during a burglary in which the home's rear window was smashed.
  • A man was struck on the side of the head with a bottle by an unknown assailant at The Paramount in Huntington. He was transported to Huntington Hospital.
  • A man was asleep on the couch of a Summit Street home when he heard the sliding door open in what may have been an attempted burglary. The man yelled and then heard the sliding door slam shut.
