David Aureliano, 12, of Kings Park, died when the boat he was a passenger in capsized late Wednesday evening after a fireworks show near Oyster Bay. His cousin, 11-year old Harlie Treanor and family friend, Victoria Gaines, 8, were also killed in the accident.

Viewing for David will be at Brueggemann Funeral Home in East Northport on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Two local families have begun a collection for the Aureliano family. According to flyers hung in Kings Park Plaza, donations can be sent or dropped off at 22 Sagebrush Lane or 16 Jasmine Lane in Kings Park.

Authorities are still investigating what went wrong in the boat accident that left in the waters near Oyster Bay.

The doomed cabin cruiser, now lying some of Long Island Sound, may hold answers to what happened just after the conclusion of a large, annual fireworks display that drew hundreds of boaters to nearby waters. The boat captain has said the boat capsized after it was hit by a wake, but investigators are looking to see if overcrowding played a role in the tragedy.
