Postal Worker Dies After Crash

Driver rear-ended and thrown through windshield in Lloyd Harbor.

A postal worker involved in a crash in Lloyd Harbor has died, Lloyd Harbor police said Tuesday.

The man, who was not identified pending notification of relatives, was driving a small vehicle when it was hit by another car at Banbury Lane and West Neck Road.

His vehicle was pushed off the road, down a slight dropoff and into a tree, and he was thrown through the windshield.

He was taken to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad, but died.

The other driver suffered minor injuries, police said.

Suffolk County police have taken over the investigation of the accident, Lloyd Harbor police said.
