Police Arrest Man For Series of Burglaries

A man classified as 'undomiciled' was arrested Saturday for several area robberies including a Carvel on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington.

Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for a series of robberies in Suffolk County that took place over the past four months.

Following an investigation, Second Squad detectives and Major Case Unit detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, arrested Alejandro Leguillow, 39, who is undomiciled, on March 19.

Leguillow was charged with five counts of Robbery 1st Degree for the following incidents:

  • The robbery of a Carvel store, located at 1918 East Route 25, in Huntington, where he threatened an employee with a knife and fled with cash on November 12, 2009.
  • The robbery of a Telestar check cashing business, located at 1618 New York Ave., Huntington Station, where he threatened an employee with a knife and fled with cash on November 17, 2009.
  • The robbery of a Dunkin Donuts, located at 516 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, where he threatened an employee with a knife and fled with cash on November 26, 2009.
  • The robbery of a Dunkin Donuts, located on 169 Commack Road, Commack, where he threatened an employee with a knife and fled with cash on December 21, 2009.
  • The robbery of a Bancuscatlan check-cashing facility, located at 752a Suffolk Ave., Brentwood, where he threatened an employee with a knife and fled with cash on January 6.

Leguillow will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on March 21.
