Police Airlift Man Hurt in Collision

Medevac chopper lands in Koster Park to aid man.

A man injured in a collision between a car and a motorcycle was airlifted by Suffolk Police helicopter Wednesday afternoon.

The collision occurred on Beverly Road, authorities said.

The police helicopter landed at Koster Park on Engelke Avenue in Huntington Station. Huntington Manor Fire Department and Suffolk police officers responded to the crash. The injured man was treated and moved from the accident scene to Koster Park by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.

Suffolk police said the accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. The male motorcyclist was transported to Stony Brook for serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. No one else was involved.
