Update: Pedestrian Struck Outside Engeman Theater

Man suffers minor injuries after being hit by car Friday night.

Update: A man was hit by a car traveling eastbound on Friday night after he stepped off the curb and into the street outside Engeman Theater, say Northport Police.

The man was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue and treated for minor injuries to his hip and buttocks. He was released from the hospital around midnight.


A pedestrian was struck by a car outside Engeman Theater on Main Street on Friday night, Northport Police say. The person was taken to Huntington Hospital.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Details are not currently known. Patch will continue to follow this breaking story as more information emerges.

no surprise. the cones extend too far into the lane, patrons don't seem to have regard for either auto or pedestrian traffic when exiting, and generally place their need to leave above common courtesy at times. while the theater is a great addition to the town, as are most of the other additions to the local scene, the resulting congestion mess is left to sort itself out.
