Pedestrian Struck on Jericho Turnpike

Man injured at Melville Road intersection.

A pedestrian was struck and injured by a car Wednesday night in Huntington Station.

Suffolk County police said the man, who is 46, was eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he was hit at the Melville Road intersection. The driver, a 76-year-old woman, was southbound on Melville Road. The crash happened at 6:27 p.m.

The man suffered a head injury and was taken to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.

No further details were immediately available.
