NYPD: Huntington Man Faces Homicide Charge in Crash That Killed 9-Year-Old

A Huntington man is charged with criminally negligent homicide following a crash in Brooklyn Sunday that claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl, the NYPD said Monday.

Kenneth Palache, 62, was fleeing the scene of another crash when his Honda Odyssey slammed into a 2013 Hyundai Elantra around 5 p.m., police said. Rebecca Ramnarine, who the New York Post reported had just left church, was a passenger in the Hyundai and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“They rushed her into the ambulance and they were still working on her and there was just so much blood,” Rebecca’s mother, Abiola Ramnarine, told 1010 WINS. “We went to the hospital and they called me into the room and told me my baby was dead.”
