Infomation supplied by Steve Silverman.
Accidents kept the Dix Hills Fire Department busy Friday night.

One occurred involved a  Hummer overturning on the north service road of the Long Island Expressway, east of Deer Park Avenue. The Hummer overturned and went over the guardrail onto an embankment. The department said the male driver refused medical assistance.

It was one of six motor vehicle accidents handled Friday by the department.

The other crashes occurred on East Deer Park Road and Gables Court, Northern State Parkway near Deer Park Avenue (two crashes), Deer Park Avenue and Straight Path, and Northern State Parkway west of Deer Park Avenue.

Dix Hills Fire Chief Tom Magno urges all motorists to use caution on the roads."Driving conditions get worse with rain and wet leaves. The public should use caution this time of year," Magno said.
