Melville Man Accused in Coupon Scheme
Nassau police say man used fraudulent merchandise coupons at Home Depot stores.
A Melville man was arrested early Thursday morning on charges of using fraudulent manufacturer coupons.
Nassau County police said Dianfeng Jiang, 41, was involved in using fraudulently created "Buy one, get one free" coupons for Milwaukee and Bosch power tools. Jiang used the coupons to make purchases at Home Depot stores throughout Nassau County and elsewhere, police said. He would later return the merchandise for a cash refund causing Home Depots in Nassau County more than $7,000.
A subsequent investigation led detectives to Jiang, who was arrested without incident.
He is charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree possession of a forged instrument. He will be arraigned Friday in First District Court, Hempstead.
