Man Robs HSBC Bank Branch at Walt Whitman Mall

Homicide Unit detectives continue to investigate Huntington Station bank robbery.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Friday afternoon at the HSBC bank branch in the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station.

According to police, a man entered the bank, located at 160 Walt Whitman Road, and approached a teller at approximately 4:02 p.m. demanding cash. The teller complied with the man's demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the bank in a northbound direction through the mall.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 50 and 60 years old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white T-shirt with writing on the front, dark jeans or slacks, and a white hat, according to police.
