The Capital Bank on New York Avenue was held up Monday night, with the robber escaping with an unknown amount of money.
Suffolk police said a man entered the bank at 250 New York Ave., about 5:30 p.m., approached a teller, pulled a weapon and demanded money. The teller handed over the cash and the man fled south on New York Avenue.
He is described as a white male with a thin to medium build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves, and a cloth mask.
