Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Suffolk police say Huntington Station resident struck pedestrian in August.

A Huntington Station man was arrested Wednesday in the Aug. 4 fatal hit-and-run accident on New York Avenue.

Suffolk County police charged Richard Wright, 27, with leaving the scene of an accident in the crash that killed Reinaldo Velasquez-Yanes, 25.

He  was struck about 3 a.m. by a vehicle southbound on New York Avenue near the 12th Street intersection.

 Wright, 27,  is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
