Man Arrested in Gas Station Hit-and-Run
Sunoco employee was seriously injured in February accident.
Suffolk County Police arrested a Westbury man Friday in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a Sunoco employee in Huntington in February.
Michael Charles was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting resulting in serious physical injury.
Vehicular Crime Unit detectives investigated the accident, which occurred Feb. 13 as the car was leaving the station at 1888 Jericho Turnpike in Huntington. The victim, Jaffery Syed, 60, of Greenlawn, was flown by police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
Charles, 29, is scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
