Lloyd Harbor Man Killed by Falling Tree

Rest of family unhurt in Oak Hill Road accident Monday evening.

A Lloyd Harbor man was killed Monday night when a tree fell on him in his driveway.

Police said John Miller and his wife were standing outside the family home on Oak Hill Road when a tree collapsed at approximately 7:25 p.m. Monday. The tree landed on Miller who, along with his wife, was standing outside of the family car and preparing to leave the home.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the accident.

Miller, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Miller’s wife was not injured. The couple’s 5-year-old and 3-year-old daughters, who were in the car, were not injured.

My best friends' wife went to Holy Cross with John. This is an unbelievably sad story. One of the worse of Sandy.

Pam, Out of respect for the family, it would be nice if you could remove this ONE YEAR OLD news article. I am sure in one phone call to the IT Department, this could have been removed in 2 minutes.
