Good for them. Times like these call for home protection, especially when people are stealing generators or syphoning gas from people's cars because they don't want to wait in line.

Trees and lines down everywhere around my house,
How can power be restored if the area hasn't be cleared?
October Faerie November 5, 2012 at 05:39 am
Haven't seen anyone from either the town or LIPA in the Maplewood area. No garbage pickup since October 25. We would be happy just to get some sort of timeframe, but being left in the dark literally and figuratively. Our taxes are outrageous and this lack of response or communication is beyond frustrating. Where ARE they?

Vicki, do you see an "upload photos and videos" button? Click on that. You should be able to post pictures there.

I have a town tree on my house. There is also another part of the dead tree that will either fall on my house too, or go in the other direction and end up on Pidgeon Hill Road. I need help!!!

Christine, have you called the town hotline? Or can you send us a photo and we'll get it to the town's attention.

Usually cats stay within a few houses of home Sometimes they just hunker down under a neighbor'sRead More shed or deck. He is more likely to come to you at night when there aren't as many lawn mower sounds. Walk around with a can of the stinkiest cat food that you can find. Call to him, and listen for a response. He may answer you with soft meows. Make a trail of stinky cat food to your door and leave the can at the door overnight. Hang up signs with a photo in the neighborhood. Go door to door and tell neighbors to call you if they see him. Kids playing, and dog walkers might spot him. Once you have an idea, of where he is, you can use a have a heart trap to catch him, if he won't come to you. Some cats get so scared when they get out, that they don't recognize their humans. We have had cats disappear for months, before trapping them.
