Huntington Station Man Arrested for Stealing Car From Man Giving Him Ride Home

Suffolk County police arrest 23-year-old for incident following a party in Huntington Station late last month.

Suffolk County police arrested a Huntington Station man on Wednesday who stole a vehicle from another man who was driving him home from a party on Aug. 28. According to police, following the theft the Huntington Station man crashed the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police said Timothy Hardge, 23, of 21A East 6th St. in Huntington Station, was getting a ride home from Nicholas Mittler following a party in Huntington Station on Aug. 28 at 6:30 a.m. when Hardge pulled out a handgun and robbed Mittler of items including his wallet and cell phone. Hardge forced Mittler out of the 2005 Hyundai, stole the vehicle and then crashed it into two parked cars on McKay Road, near Columbia Street, in Huntington Station, according to police. Hardge then fled the scene on foot, Second Squad detectives said.

Hardge is being charged with robbery in the first degree and was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip.
