Huntington Man Seriously Injured in Crash
Police said a woman was driving while intoxicated when she crashed and seriously injured her passenger.
A Northport woman was arrested Thursday after police said she was driving while intoxicated after her passenger was seriously injured in a crash in Centerport early Thursday morning.
According to Suffolk County police, Elizabeth Damilatis was driving a 2011 Volvo SUV west on East Main Street when she lost control of her vehicle, which struck a utility pole on the north side of road in front of 375 East Main St. at 3:51 a.m.
The passenger in the SUV, Thomas Martin, 36, of Huntington, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Second Squad detectives charged Damilatis, 25, with driving while intoxicated. She is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Friday.
Centerport Fire Department led the rescue efforts at the scene under the direction of Chief Nick Feeley and Second Assistant Chief Tom Boyd. Members of the Halesite Fire Department also assisted for burning electrical wires resulting from the crash.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
