Body Found in Huntington Harbor

Man found floating in water near Halesite Fire Department.

The body of a man was found floating in Huntington Harbor Tuesday morning.

Several Suffolk County police units, including detectives, were on the scene, near the Halesite Fire Department. Huntington Bay constables found the body bout 8 a.m. near the marina.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating. Police said the body of an unidentified black male was removed from the water and taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed.

Anyone with information regarding this unidentified person is asked to call the Homicide Section at 631-852-6392.

No further information was immediately available.
