Firefighters Battle Greenlawn Laundromat Fire

The Greenlawn Fire Department responded to a fire at the Greenlawn Laundromat on Broadway just south of the Long Island Rail Road tracks on Saturday at 11:10 p.m. 

About 30 Greenlawn volunteer firefighters were on the scene with an engine, ladder truck, rescue truck and ambulance, under the command of Assistant Chiefs Kurt Allen and Mike Bellis.

The fire was confined to a clothes dryer and was rapidly extinguished with no damage to the building.

There were no injuries reported.
