Deli Worker Snagged For Selling Alcohol, Tobacco to Minor

One deli sold a minor working with police alcohol. Four others did not.

Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for selling alcohol to minors at a deli in Greenlawn Saturday, February 27.

In response to resident's concerns, Second Precinct Crime Section officers conducted alcohol and tobacco compliance checks at various establishments in Huntington between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Officers had assistance from an underage police agent.

Roberto Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 43, was charged Unlawfully Dealing With a Child 1st Degree and Unlawfully Dealing With a Child 2nd Degree for selling alcohol to a minor at Brothers Deli, located at 243 Broadway, in Greenlawn. Five other establishments were found in compliance with the checks.

Rodriguez was issued a Field Appearance Ticket and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on April 26.

Clerks at the following establishments did not sell alcohol to the minor who was assisting police:

Food Star, Larkfield Road, in E Northport

Larkfield Wine and Liquors, Larkfield Road, in E Northport
