Smithtown

Anisa Escobar, 41, of Mount Sinai, was arrested in Smithtown on charges of petit larceny on Feb. 5. Escobar allegedly purchased a television at the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Setauket and later returned the empty television box to the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Islandia. She allegedly brought the empty box to the television aisle and switched it with a full box, then brought the full television box to the return desk and received a refund.

Police are looking for information on a woman they say stole a debit card in Smithtown.

According to police, an unnamed woman noticed her debit card was missing while shopping at , located at 95 Route 111, at roughly 2 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2011. The card was used later to make numerous purchases.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and could be reached at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Xin Hu, 43, of Flushing, was arrested in Smithtown on second-degree trademark counterfeiting charges. Hu allegedly was in possession of and selling counterfeit DVDs of current released movies.

Reena Rashid, 25, of Islip, was arrested in Smithtown on charges of filing false business records. Rashid, an employee of a precious metal exchange located at 591 Nesconset Highway in Smithtown, allegedly intentionally omitted an entry documenting a bracelet purchase.

Northport 

Northport police said Kelly A. Karman, 42, of Centerport was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing a diamond engagement ring from a house on Church Street in October

Farmingdale

A Farmingdale woman is accused of stealing from her employer in Plainview, pawning the items for cash, according to Nassau County Police.

On Monday,  charged Lorin Sepetci, 20, of 221 Cherry St. in Farmingdale, with taking more than $3,000 worth of jewelry from her employer's Plainview home over the past eight months.

West Babylon

Suffolk police are hunting for a man who robbed the Roslyn Savings Bank branch in West Babylon Saturday morning.

According to police the man entered the bank at 653 West Montauk Highway at 9:55 a.m. and began shouting demands for money. He approached a teller who gave him cash from the drawer.

The suspect is described as a white male with blue eyes, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded-sweatshirt with the hood on, a black ski mask, black pants and white sneakers.
