Police are seeking a man who allegedly stole prescription medication from an East Northport medical office.

On May 25, an unknown white male, who claimed to be a drug company representative, removed approximately $300 worth of prescription medication from a shelf while he was in a doctor’s office at . The theft was captured on videotape by surveillance cameras.

Smithtown

James Taylor, 48, of Hauppauge was arrested July 17 in Smithtown and charged with first degree reckless endangerment. Reports indicate Taylor allegedly fired a rifle into the air in a backyard July 4.  

Plainview

A Plainview mother will be in court Wednesday to answer charges in the death of her disabled 8-year-old daughter.

Veronica Cirella, 31, was charged with manslaughter Sunday after her daughter, Julie, was found dead Saturday in their Shelly Court home. Cirella was found nearby with a cord wrapped around her neck.

At Cirella's arraignment at Nassau University Medical Center Sunday, the Nassau County prosecutor said Cirella gave her daughter food that she was allergic to, and wrote a note saying that  "her daughter should die," prosecutor Zeena J. Abdi said. Cirella is being held without bail.
