Cops Searching for Man Who Pulled Gun on Greenlawn Cab Driver

The attempted robbery occurred early Saturday morning, police say.

Suffolk police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in a taxicab in Greenlawn early Saturday morning.

Police say the passenger in the taxi displayed a gun and demanded money from the driver at 12:15 a.m. on Lantern Street.

The attacker struck the cab driver in the back of the head with the gun, but there were no injuries, according to police.

The suspect fled with no proceeds. 

There were no immediate details available on the suspect's description.
