Car Hits 2 Pedestrians at Traffic Circle

A man and woman were struck by a car at the Gerard Street traffic circle Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.

The husband refused treatment but the woman was taken to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad, police said. She struck her head on the ground but had non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorist, a woman driving a Toyota, was not injured and was not charged, police said.

The accident happened about 6:25 p.m.

Traffic in the area was unusually heavy shortly after the accident, since a block of Wall Street was closed down for repairs.
