Boy, 12, Rescued After Near-Drowning in Lloyd Harbor

Incident at West Neck Beach Sunday.

Police say a 12-year-old boy was saved from drowning at Sunday.

The child was pulled from the water at 6:37 p.m. by a relative at the Lloyd Harbor beach before Town of Huntington lifeguard, Connor Donovan, 19, and a Huntington nurse who was at the beach, Denise McKay, began stabilizing the victim, according to police.

Second Precinct police officer James Garside along with Tom Hogan of the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department initiated advanced life support.

The child was transported Huntington Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
