Benefit for 11th Street Fire Victims

Raffles, donated gift certificates and tickets offered as fundraiser.

A fund drive is scheduled for Sunday to assist two famiies

Organizer Ed Perez said the families consist of a divorced mother with two daughters, one of whom has Down Syndrome, and a young couple with a 7-year-old child.

Perez said the benefit, from 1 to 5 p.m. at , will offer raffles and tickets donated by the Paramount and restaurants have donated gift certificates. He said while he can't accept clothing and furniture donations at the moment, he hopes to in the near future.

A search for housing is underway.

The benefit will take place as part of a health fair that had already been scheduled before the fire occurred last Friday. The fair includes music, facepainting and games.
