Five men, including two from Huntington Station, will be arraigned Monday on charges involving a series of robberies in Suffolk County.
The two local men are Edwin Acosta-Martinez, 23, of 15 Ludlum St., facing six counts of first-degree robbery and Mario Chincilla Rodriguez, 23, of 170 East 23rd St., facing three counts of first-degree robbery.
The five men are suspected in a series of armed holdups of a restaurant, a deli, a pharmacy and other retail stores. Among the string was the robbery of the the A&D store Dec. 27 in Huntington Station . During the incident, one of the men struck the clerk, who was working alone, in the back of the head with a gun, according to police.
They will will be arraigned Monday in Suffolk County court in Riverhead on a grand jury indictment.
Suffolk County police Third Squad detectives also charged:
Carlos Velasquez, 17, of 135 W. Bay Shore Rd., Bay Shore
Wilmer Velasquez-Cruz, 27, of 110 McKinley St., Brentwood
Jonathan Portillo, 16, of 246 Lincoln Ave., Brentwood
The five men are also suspected of robbing Iglesia Universal Church located in Brentwood in January.
